I am not a big fan of Japanese cuisine but the restaurant Wasabi by the world-renowned chef Masaharu Morimoto, seemed promising.
Given that the dishes are very pricey, my first order consisted of a few selections from the list of different maki roll. The quality of a Japanese restaurant can be easily judged from the standard of the sushi crafted by its chefs, and I was impressed. I would recommend the spicy asparagus tempura maki roll; the warm crispy tempura centre was delightful. Stick to the roll options if you do not wish to splurge on the per piece sushi/sashimi options. I must add that the sushi was as comparable to the sushi I have tasted in restaurants in Tokyo.
Following the sushi, I ordered the Morimoto Ramen which is a chicken noodle soup. The chicken broth was clear and had a beautiful umami undertone, however the dish didn’t appeal to me…
