Honoring Culinary Excellence: Top Chef Awards Delhi-NCR Season 3 @ The Claridges, New Delhi

The Top Chef Awards Season 3 in sponsor with nearbuy and Lite Bite Foods was hosted at The Claridges, New Delhi on 4th September’16 this year. The Award event saw some of the very talented chefs, mixologists, restaurant managers and restaurateurs being awarded for their exemplary work as a contribution to the ever flourishing F&B industry.

The event started with a brief meet and greet session among the attendees and was followed by the award ceremony. It was solicited with a note of thanks from the Co-Founder and eminent food critic Sourish Bhattacharyya to the jury which consisted of 15 famous leaders of the industry who chose the nominations for the public to vote.

Some of the prominent winners included The Taj Mahal Hotel bagging the maximum awards in the Five Star Hotel category followed by The Oberoi Gurgaon.

The Lifetime Achievement Award for an Exemplary Chef went to Chef Devender Bungla, Corporate Pastry Chef, Hyatt Regency Delhi whereas the Excellence Award for Restaurateur of the Year was given to Mr. A.D. Singh, M.D. of Olive Bar & Kitchen. His thanks-giving video was very well received by the entire audience.

Dhaba at The Claridges New Delhi, that hosted the North Indian cuisine dinner for the evening, was also felicitated with the Excellence Award for completing 30 years in the service of Delhi-NCR’s taste buds.

Excellence Award for International Chef of the Year – Danny El Soury, Zizo Restaurants
Excellence Award for Young Chef of the Year – Tejas Sovani, Amaranta, The Oberoi Gurgaon
Excellence Award for Best Indian Cuisine (Five-Star Hotel) – Chef J.P. Singh, Bukhara, The Oberoi Gurgaon
Excellence Award for Best Regional Indian Cuisine – Chef Kulbeer Singh, Soda Bottle Opener Wala, Khan Market
Excellence Award for Best Multi-Cuisine Chef (Standalone Restaurant) – CHEF ASHISH SINGH, Cafe Delhi Heights, Cyber Hub, Gurgaon
Excellence Award for Best Mixologist (Five-Star Hotel) – Dilbar Singh Rawat, Blue Bar, Taj Palace
Excellence Award for Best Pastry/Bakery Chef (Five-Star Hotel) – Chef Anurag Bhartwal, The Leela Patisserie, Ambience Mall, Gurgaon
Excellence Award for Best Pastry/Bakery Chef (Standalone Restaurant) – Chef Amit Sinha, L’Opera, Khan Market

The award ceremony was concluded with a plush multi-cuisine dinner buffet laid out by The Claridges. The food was exceptionally good. The dessert table was grabbing everyone’s attention with a variety of close to 50 desserts laid out by the famous Ye Old Bakery of The Claridges. Needless to say, it was a delicious gastronomical experience!
