The Big Fat Indian Wedding: Part 2

Travelling Tunes

You know you’ve entered an Indian wedding when an aroma of spices encapsulates you and you can practically taste the fried goods on your tongue; and when you’re greeted by a trail of flowers and flashes of colour. Part 2 of my saga incorporates two of my favourite ceremonies of the whole ritual; the Mehendi and the Sangeet. This post is more photographic as it’s harder to put into words the beauty, glamour and decor of these lively ceremonies.

The Mehendi is a day that calls for dancing, singing, eating and most importantly the whole ordeal of putting henna on any body part left exposed. Despite being accustomed to the beauty of Indian decorations, I was swept away into a land of rainbow coloured trees and a sky full of brightly lit umbrellas. Below, is an array of pictures that give a taste of this fantastical illusion.
