Review: Peter Cat, Kolkata

My Confessions of Gluttony

Peter cat has been one of Kolkata’s most popular restaurants since the 1960’s. This place has blood red interiors with comfortable seating and a warmly lit ambiance. The servers are dressed in traditional crisp white sherwanis with red turbans. The restaurant gets its name from a certain famous cat who lived in the Lords cricket ground sometime around 1960’s. Yes, I am in love with everything about the restaurant. The food is great value for money. The cocktails here are cheaper than main course. The unique menu card is in the shape of a cat’s head.

My Take: They are so famous in Kolkata and infact all over India, that if they made a mascot of the Peter cat, and sold merchandise, it would sell like their chelo kebab!

You must have guessed that the chelo kebabs tops the list on their menu. Two minced mutton kebabs and one chicken…
