My First Week in Rishikesh


In the Yoga Sutra, Patanjali says that you must do your yoga practice, whatever that might be, with consistence, diligence, patience, and, most importantly, without attachment to results. By not worrying about what will come from your efforts, you’ll set your mind free.

To be honest it’s been hard to know where to begin or what to write. I had actually finally gotten a post done a few days ago and then our wifi crashed (power outages are common here and often last a couple days) and somehow I lost the entire post. It was hard to begin from scratch again..

I had so many preconceived ideas about what India would be like: from the culture, people, the ashram, environment and my training. My expectations were a waste of time.

Yes, there are a LOT of people. Yes, there is a lot of dirt, dust and trash… Everywhere. Monkeys run through…
