Isolation is not good for me

I couldn’t resist the temptation to go skiing in Kashmir. The short version: it was expensive and disappointing.
The long version: I arrived in my hotel in Gulmarg and was immediately shocked. The lobby was not heated and had 7 degrees Celsius, for the room they brought me an electric heater which didn’t work half of the time due to power failures. There was even a wood oven, but apparently they had no wood or didn’t know how to operate it. At least the electric blanket kept me warm in the nights (when power was working). The rooms (esp. bathrooms) were very poorly isolated so that it was even a challenge to take a hot shower. If you poured boiling hot water at arm’s length onto the floor tiles, it was pleasantly warm to lukewarm once it reached your feet.
Borrowing all the equipment and meeting my guide worked out…
